Admission rules
The instructions for the Ceraxon solution (syrup) describe the rules for its use:
- the prescribed amount of medicine is measured with a measuring syringe;
- Before taking the product, dilute it in water (about half a glass);
Dilute Ceraxon in a small amount of water.
- treatment is not tied to meal times;
- It is advisable to take the last daily dose of syrup before 17:00 (i.e. several hours before bedtime, since all nootropics can cause agitation).
When calculating the dosage, the nature of the disease, the age and weight of the child, the degree of prematurity and some other factors are important. In general, the following schemes are applicable:
- for premature babies with low body weight - 0.5 ml twice a day;
- for infants over 2 months - 1 ml twice a day.
For older children, the dose can be increased, but the daily amount of medication should not exceed 20 ml.

Analogs
If an allergy to the components of Ceraxon is detected, the doctor selects an adequate replacement - a medicine with a different composition, but with a similar effect.
- Gliatilin - capsules and injection solution based on choline alfoscerate. Officially approved for the treatment of children from 3 months. The only contraindication is intolerance to the components of the product. A package of Gliatilin capsules (14 pcs.) costs an average of 700 rubles.
- Cavinton - tablets and concentrate for infusion with the active substance vinpocetine. The product is used not only in neurology, but also in ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. Average price for a pack of 50 tablets. - 300 rubles.
- Pantogam - syrup and tablets based on hopantenic acid. Officially, the medicine is indicated for children from 3 years of age, but in practice even newborns are treated with it. A package of tablets (50 pcs.) costs an average of 450 rubles, a bottle of syrup (100 ml) costs 400 rubles.
An analogue of Tserakosna is Pantogam.
- Cerebrolysin is an injection solution with the active ingredient of the same name (Cerebrolysin). The price of a package of 10 ampoules depends on their capacity (1, 2, 5 or 10 ml). The average cost range is as follows: from 650 rubles (1 ml ampoules) to 1150 rubles (10 ml ampoules).
- Cerepro - capsules and solution in ampoules based on glycerylphosphorylcholine hydrate. The average cost (pack of 14 capsules) is 480 rubles.
- Encephabol is a suspension and tablets with the main active ingredient pyritinol. Children are most often prescribed the medicine in the form of a suspension, its average price (200 ml bottle) is 900 rubles.
Forms of release, prices, manufacturers
Ceraxon is a product of the Spanish pharmaceutical company Ferrer International. Pharmacies offer the following forms of release of the drug:
- The solution for oral administration (it is often called syrup due to its pinkish color and strawberry aroma) is a liquid bottled in 30 ml glass bottles. The medicine is supplied with a convenient measuring syringe. The dosage of the active component is 10 g per 100 ml of medicine.
- Tablets are oblong tablets coated with a white film coating with a characteristic imprint, packed in cardboard boxes of 20 pieces (4 contour packages for 5 tablets). 1 tablet contains 500 mg of citicoline.
- Solution for injection is a colorless liquid, poured into glass ampoules with a capacity of 4 ml. Two dosages of the active ingredient are possible - 500 or 1000 mg in 1 ampoule.
